Certain qualifying benefits or an NHS HC2 certificate can give entitlement. Universal Credit has additional conditions.

A few useful things to know before your visit.
Does a free sight test mean free glasses?
Not automatically. Optical vouchers have separate eligibility rules and contribute towards glasses or contact lenses. A voucher may cover the full cost of some options; any extra cost will be explained. Check NHS voucher eligibility.
How often can I have an NHS sight test?
Usually every two years, but your optometrist may recommend an earlier test when clinically necessary. If your sight changes or you have symptoms, contact us rather than waiting for your next routine test.
What if I do not qualify?
You can book a private eye examination. See our current prices, or ask the team about your options.
What if I need urgent help?
