Eye Examinations

Why you should have your eyes examined

You should have your eyes examined regularly, to check their overall health and test your vision. A thorough eye examination can also detect underlying medical conditions that could otherwise go unnoticed.

We’ll advise you how often you should have your eyes examined. For most people, this will be once every two years.

However, if, for example, you have a particular medical condition, you’re older or someone in your immediate family has glaucoma, you may need to have your eyes examined more often.

You should also have your eyes examined if for any reason you’re worried about their health or you notice any changes in your vision.

Why we offer one hour appointments

We will never rush you, either during your eye examination or while you’re choosing your glasses. We do understand that some people find having an eye examination uncomfortable or stressful.

So, if you’d rather have a little longer, we’ll allow an hour for your appointment.

This gives us enough time to examine your eyes thoroughly and make sure you feel comfortable and confident throughout.

*The College of Optometrists and the Association of Dispensing Opticians advise you buy your glasses where you have your eyes examined. This is because good vision depends both on how your glasses are prescribed and how they are dispensed. Therefore, if you don’t buy your glasses from us, we’re sorry but we’re unable to offer you unlimited adjustments, even if we carried out your eye test.
